Breaking Old Beliefs

Before we were born, thousands of beliefs were already established. And of course, they got established to you. These beliefs, thoughts, ideas are supposedly telling you how to live, behave, act, react, understand, how you could be happy, and many many more.

So there we are, little ones trying to grasp all those ideas to fit in with the rest. Maybe overtime, we decided to break a few and either we made ourselves in trouble or we got out of it without a scratch. Probably, some other times we made up new beliefs for you, looking to experiment. Sometimes they went good and others not so much.

But here is the thing, the new ideas grow and overlap with old ones. So probably, there is a big mess.

The reality is that the problem is not the beliefs, the problem is that we usually don’t stop to listen or observe them to see if they fit with us, in our goals and in our life. We keep going thinking that beliefs can’t be changed, because we want to believe it.

Great news, beliefs can be seen as thoughts (usually in the past to keep thinking and analyzing them) or can be seen as a new way to create new ideas and as a new reality.

Every day is a new day to create a new idea, a new thought or belief that can push you forward towards a life that makes sense to you.

For example, when in yoga you want to accomplish that pose that looks fascinating to you, like plank or chaturanga pose, but, the old beliefs (maybe yours or not) say that you are not strong enough, that you have always been weak, that you're never stable in your goals or balanced, and so on. You are there in between what you want and your implemented thoughts and beliefs… So, what if you decide one day to try and you fall... maybe next day you try one more time... maybe as you try you are able to see that the trick is to stare at a static point in front and you were able to hold longer... until there's is one day that you tell yourself a new thing “I did it, I’m very strong and balance”

The magic in us and in yoga is to always go out of your comfort zone and try. At that moment is when you break old beliefs and create new ones. As simple as that!

Be free. Observe the never ending horizon in front of you as an invitation to keep going towards your inner wisdom to create new ideas and beliefs. The only thing that you have to do is to trust that the places in front can help you grow and transform yourself into a beautiful and unique you.

That the light in me, recognizes the light in you,
