Free from Attachments

The flow of life is always teaching us that we can be as free as a fish in the ocean, or as a flying eagle in the sky or even as a shining star in the universe. So where do attachments come from? We might blame our past, our circumstances, or even people that we had in our lives. However, if we really want to believe this, they will lead us to drama, pain, sorrow or attachments.

As I always like to share, we have options to make the best decisions every day. And one important and crucial decision is to live detached from the past, people and situations.

Most often drama could look comfortable, however, the only thing we do in this position is to complain, live thinking in the I would’ve or should’ve, living making others responsible for our pain and thinking that this will set us free and happy.

The real thing is that this state of mind has just the power of making our life pass by and make us lose our real power.

If you really want to see yourself free from the past and attachments (from all that holds you back), we need to be responsible for all that we did decide to live back in the past. If you had a bad experience, you are responsible for creating the situation. Or maybe you were just ignorant that you could’ve avoided the situation.

So what should we do?

  1. We need to start forgiving ourselves for not knowing that we had the necessary tools to not live those unpleasant situations. Forgiving all of those that were supposed to support us and they didn't know either how to support us or guide us.

  2. Be grateful for all of those situations, that even in the pain, made you be what you are today: stronger, knowledgeable, and aware.

  3. Start making actions, how can you change your present free from those old patterns or habits. Use releasing meditations that can start healing each layer of that suffering or drama.

  4. Visualize yourself free from any attachments, like if you were just floating on top of the ocean; enjoying the beauty of the emptiness around.

  5. Be present. Allow yourself to enjoy every and each single detail around you. Every day is a new opportunity to appreciate the delicate and wonderful life where you are right now; from the smile in a person you cross by, to the ant climbing a leaf, or to the clouds flowing and leaving behind to look forward to a new scenario.

Life is as wonderful as you want it to be. Take your time to transform your reality in each step forward that you create.

The light in me, recognizes the light in you,
