I Speak my Truth with Love

Communication is part of our lives. We communicate and express through words (like speaking, writing, singing), being creative, through clothing and even listening. Nowadays, we have many other chances to express ourselves too, like texting, posting on Instagram or Facebook, making videos, video chatting, and some other ways. Expressing ourselves it’s an essential part of us because we can share who we truly are to the world. We’re constantly communicating to family, partners, friends, coworkers, or bosses, but for some people might find it so easy, freely, and open to show true compassionate love in everything they do; and others might find it more challenging. Either way, it’s so important to find the balance in between our expression and to pause in between words and activities (meaning silence) to make sure we’re in balance and that what we’re sharing comes from love.

In yoga this kind of communication is related to the chakra Visuddha that means purification. This chakra is located around the throat, the neck area, jaws, ears, and mouth. It teaches us ways to communicate and express feelings openly and freely. It’s located next to the heart chakra so it expresses and receives love constantly. Therefore, the throat chakra will express all those feelings from the heart by talking, listening, and being creative. Also, this chakra is located next to the mind, meaning that in order for it to be in balance, the mind needs to get quiet to listen the heart and flow the expression of our voice with love.

So, how to Communicate:

There are four doors if communication. These doors are going to allow us to take the time to appreciate and to be aware of what we are saying comes from love and compassion. From one side, we’ll make sure that it’s good for us and that the message we’re sending it’s ok for the listener.

The first door is to ask yourself if what are trying to say is true.

The second door is to ask yourself if it’s necessary to say it.

The third door is if it is adequate time to say it.

And the last door is to ask yourself what is the best way to say it.

Vishuddha chakra invites you to speak with love, say the truth, be receptive to hear the expressions of love. Use your voice, practice different ways to express your feelings through art, music, writing, and reading beautiful and inspiring things like poetry. Also, silence is something to practice. Go out in nature and just be the listener and the receptive. And always trust that the universe is bringing balance into your life if we just listen.

The love in my voice in me, recognizes the love in your voice,
