What is meditation?

Certainly meditation is for everybody; anyone can meditate. Meditation is easy and available to anyone that is willing to let go of suffering, transform their reality and be free from attachments. It's a practice that many cultures and religions had been practicing for hours in their life in many different ways. Probable, without knowing, you have been practicing it. Maybe you practice it those times when you got still contemplating something (or nothing, like the moving leaves) very focus, or when washing dishes and your mind was somewhere else, or even when day dreaming and reading a book.

Meditation is a state of the inner or outer mind contemplation. Meditation means to explore the quiet space of the mind so we can listen to the soul. It’s an invitation to find silence that starts when we let the noise disperse and find emptiness.

From the many benefits that meditation has, I have to say that in my opinion the main one is self care. But I’ll name some other important ones, meditation can:

Physically:

Lower our blood pressure

Calm the heart

Lower anxiety

Give a calming effect to the body and the mind

Relax us

Increase energy

Helps to improve our immune system by releasing stress hormones and adrenaline

Provide muscular relaxation

Mentally:

Release insomnia, anxiety and depression

Help to have better memory, focus and concentration

Let us be aware of the thoughts without getting hooked

Open up Creativity

Rise self-esteem and auto control

Change our thoughts

Transform our perception

Let us see the big picture in different situations

Lower stress

Let us approach things with more clarity

Spiritually:

Open us for love

Help us understand our purpose in life

Expand our beautiful energy

Let us be open for new things

Provide Self acceptance

Make us have more compassion and comprehension

Help us be more humble

Allow us to observe our life the way truly is

When we meditate, we can find a special inner place where we can find shelter, empathy and wisdom. Here we can easily seek for silence and balance to center our true self. And even when the outside noises are unstoppable and our mind thoughts don’t let us see through, meditation will allow us to align everything to see and think clearly with a sense of serenity and joy.

Why not to practice meditation if the benefits are amazing. We all deserve to feel good all the time with a clear understanding, contentment and sense of freedom. I invite you to look for more about meditation in my workshops and online, private and public classes.

The light I see in me, recognizes the light I see in you,
